Does the mask only change colors/move when ambient music is playing? Or is there a way that the mask come alive without music playing in the room?

There is a button on the modulator that allows you to change between 5 different modes. There are a number of options such as always on, flashing, and pre-programmed modes to mimic sound reactivity.
