Since the early 1800s, the U.S. Mint has issued special proof coins minted exclusively for collectors. These coins are the finest quality ever produced and one of the most popular ways to collect coins. The blanks are specially treated, hand-polished, and cleaned before being struck with specially polished dies at least twice to ensure great detail. The resulting coins are of exceptional quality and have deeply mirrored finishes with intricate designs.

Offered here are custom proof coin sets that are assembled to order and contain one example of each coin minted in a given year. Each coin is housed in an airtight capsule and the set is presented in a luxurious, plush-lined wood box with embossed metallic gold lettering, piano-black finish, and certificate of authenticity.

Please Note: From 1965-1967, no traditional proof sets were issued by the United States Mint. Instead, a limited-edition issue of “special mint sets” were produced, which featured a unique satin finish on the coins.
