Buried deep beneath the streets of Paris, the Catacombs house the remains of 6 million souls and countless untold secrets. When the bones of the dead were first taken into the Catacombs in the 1700s, they were simply dropped in the tunnel and a priest would say a prayer to keep the dead at peace. But soon, workers began arranging the bones into decorative shapes and patterns, lining the tunnels with rows of skulls and other grisly remains, creating a sort of macabre wallpaper.
