THIS NOTE IS LEGAL TENDER FOR ALL DEBTS, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE, AND IS REDEEMABLE IN LAWFUL MONEY AT THE UNTED STATES TREASURY, OR AT ANY FEDREAL RESERVE BANK.

The note also states:

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WILL PAY TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND
FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS. So, this is a payable on demand note.

The BEP District letter is “B” which stands for New York. It also has the number “2” on all four corners of the note. That is the second letter in the alphabet which is “B”.
