Covering the entire surface of this perfect Muonionalusta Sphere is the striking three-dimensional display of Muonionalusta's radiant octahedral crystalline structure: the Widmanstätten Pattern. This pattern is diagnostic in the identification of Iron meteorites and formed from the two Nickel-Iron alloys that make up octahedrite meteorites—Kamacite and Taenite. The pattern requires a cooling period of millions of years to properly crystallize, and this can only occur in the vacuum of outer space. The result of that slow cooling is visible proof of its un-Earthly origin.
