Ancient Celtic Gaul, mid 1st Century BC. A beautiful little silver Quinarius, struck by the Sequani tribe, Area of Besançon. The front depicts a helmeted Celtic head facing left, legend Q.DOCI to left / The back with a horse racing left, legend SAM.F around. ref: Delestrée 3245 for type. Nice detail for these. Coin diameter 11mm. Encapsulated and graded Very Fine by NGC! Archival slab measures 3.125" x 2.125" x 0.375”. Provenance: Ex De Père, WI collection.Accompanied by a hand-signed certificate of authenticity which includes all the details, culture, dating, motifs/inscriptions when applicable, historical relevance, and provenance.
