Product Description
Ancient Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, c. 664-30 BC. A fine blue-green faience ushabti, burial figure, servant to the deceased in the afterlife. Depicted mummiform, with arms crossed, holding pick and hoe, seed bag over shoulder. Two vertical registers of incredibly sharp heiroglyphic inscriptions from the Book of the Dead down the front, traces of writing in red still visible on the back plinth. Intact, with no restoration or repair. Very rare in this superb condition. H: 3.9375”.
